Contacts
Contacts is everyone who has shared their email. Only subscribed contacts receive marketing. It lives at Email → Audience, as the first of two tabs: Contacts and Segments.
What do the statuses mean?

| Subscribed | Yes. |
| Pending | No - they have not confirmed yet. |
| Unsubscribed | No - they opted out. |
| Suppressed | No - sending to them was stopped, for example after repeated bounces. |
The distinction that catches people out is pending: those contacts exist and are counted, but nothing is sent to them until they confirm.
Where do contacts come from?
Shoppers sharing their email with your assistant, plus anything you add. You can Add subscriber one at a time, or Import CSV in bulk. Export gives you the list back.
What else is on the page?
Active and inactive counts, and top email providers. The table shows email, name and status, paginated.
Who can I actually send to?
Build a segment from these contacts, then use it in a broadcast.
