Kooga Docs

Articles

Articles is where SEO articles are researched, written and published. It lives at SEO agent → Articles, and it is the first of two tabs: Articles and Performance.

How do I start an article?

Choose New article and enter a target keyword - that keyword is what the article is written to rank for, so an empty one is rejected with Enter a keyword to write about.

You can also start one from a keyword you already researched in Keywords, or from a gap found in Tasks.

What is an article based on?

Before it writes, Kooga looks at the pages that rank on Google for your target keyword: their titles, the questions people also ask, the sections they share and how long they are. The article is planned to cover what those pages have in common and to add something they leave out. It does not copy them.

This happens when the target keyword is a phrase someone would search. Your brand voice and any instructions you give still decide how it reads.

What do the statuses mean?

StatusWhat it means
IdeaCaptured, not written.
GeneratingBeing written now.
DraftWritten, not submitted.
In reviewWaiting for you.
ApprovedYou approved it.
ScheduledQueued to publish.
PublishingGoing out to your store.
PublishedLive.
UnpublishedTaken back down.
FailedPublishing did not work.

Nothing reaches your store from In review without you. What Approved does next depends on the publish mode set in Autopilot.

Can I see just one status?

Yes - filter by status, or choose All.

How do I refresh an article that is losing traffic?

Open it and choose Refresh. Kooga reads what people searched for when the page was shown, and rewrites only the sections that have gone stale or answer those searches thinly; the rest stays exactly as it was. The article as it was is kept: above the editor, What the refresh changed lists each changed section with the reason, lets you compare it with the old text, and Put back the previous version restores the whole article. Your live post does not change until you publish again.

A refresh does not use an article from your plan.

Can I refresh posts I wrote before Kooga?

Yes. Choose Import posts from your store to bring in your store's published posts. They are copied in, marked From your store, and nothing on your store changes. You can then refresh them like any article; when you publish a refresh, the post keeps its address and its author.

What decides how they read?

Brand voice. Every article follows it, so it is worth getting right before you generate a batch.
